Ready to become a Roadrunner? If you’re finishing high school or recently earned your high school equivalency—and haven’t enrolled in college yet—you may be eligible to apply as a first-time freshman at California State University, Bakersfield.
You’re eligible to apply if:
- You’re currently enrolled in high school
- You’ve completed a high school equivalency program such as the General Education Development program (GED), High School Equivalency (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) exams
- You may have taken college courses while in high school (e.g., dual enrollment), or during the summer right after graduation, but you have not enrolled in a regular term (fall or spring) at a college or university after graduating

Application Timelines
FALL 2026 APPLICATIONS - NOW CLOSED
Admission processing for first-time freshmen:
- Application filing period: CSUB admissions application for non-impacted programs is open via Cal State Apply from October 1 - December 15 (extended deadline).
- Initial transcripts: Initial transcripts are due by February 16.
- Intent to enroll: All students intending to enroll at CSUB must submit the non-refundable $100 deposit or fee waiver by May 1.
- Final transcripts: Final transcripts with Spring 2026 grades, graduation date, or degree posted due by July 1.

SPRING 2026 APPLICATIONS- NOW CLOSED
Admission processing for first-time freshmen:
- Application filing period: CSUB admissions application for non-impacted programs is open from August 1 - September 15 (extended deadline).
- Initial transcripts: Initial transcripts with the 7th semester grades or spring 2025 semester grades are due by September 30.
- Intent to enroll: All students intending to enroll at CSUB must submit the non-refundable $100 deposit or fee waiver by the extended deadline of November 14.
- Final transcripts: Final transcripts with Fall 2025 grades, graduation date, or degree posted due by January 5.
