Group Fit Class Descriptions
All Levels Yoga
This class is designed for beginners looking to flow through stretching various areas of the body. Intentions behind this session are to move through stretches, while still maintaining awareness of the mind and breath. Benefits include increased flexibility, strengthening and toning muscles, mindfulness, and self-awareness.
Strong Body
A strength-focused class designed to build muscle, increase muscular endurance, and improve overall strength through resistance exercises, strength circuits, and progressive movements.
Indoor Cycling
Experience a dynamic cycling class which incorporates a full ride of hills, sprints, and endurance intervals with energizing music and motivational instruction. Build strength and experience the benefits of a cardio workout all in one class! This low impact, energetic class is great for beginners as well as seasoned cyclists! Please note: Dim lighting and flashing colored lights are regularly used in this class.
Functional Strength
A full-body class focused on improving strength for everyday movement through functional exercises that translate to everyday life. Participants will work through a variety of resistance exercises, circuits, and full-body movements designed to improve strength, stability, balance, and muscular endurance.
Full Body
A beginner-friendly strength class that works the entire body through simple and effective upper body, lower body, and core exercises. This class is a great way to build strength, improve endurance, and feel more comfortable with strength training in a welcoming environment.
Beginner Pilates
A gentle introduction to Pilates that focuses on simple, controlled movements to strengthen the core, improve flexibility, and build body awareness. Perfect for those new to Pilates or looking for a low-impact workout.
KINE:
Interval Training*
This class combines short (30 sec-2min) bouts of high intensity exercise periods alternated with periods of rest (1-2min). These higher/lower intensity periods are repeated several times during total class time using both lower and upper body muscle groups.
*KINE Classes may be taken for academic credit. SRC members are welcome to drop in.
