Each program has specific requirements in addition to the CSUB requirements. Be sure to talk with a study abroad advisor to ensure you qualify for the program you're interested in. Alternative options or waivers might be available to you.
CSUB's requirements to study abroad are as follows:
- Sophomore standing
- Minimum CSUB GPA of 2.8 at the time of exchange program nomination/application
- Minimum CSUB GPA of 2.0 earned the immediate semester prior to the intended term abroad
- Ex: Even if a student has a 3.5 GPA at the time of nomination/application (which occurs one semester in advance) but then earns less than a 2.0 CSUB GPA at the end of said semester, our office will have to withdraw the student from the program
- No disciplinary record (our office discusses the steps of checking student conduct 1:1 with prospective students)
- Transfer students must have completed at least one semester at CSUB by the start of the intended term abroad
- If you are unsure if you meet these requirements or have questions about your specific circumstances, please contact the study abroad office to discuss your situation.
